Air Con Regas & Maintenance
Here at Okee we have the correct equipment and knowledge to maintain and service almost all automotive air conditioning systems. Most modern vehicles come with air con as standard, but not all garages are able to carry out repairs on these systems. Although these systems are relatively simple in design, and don’t require too much attention, they do require regular servicing.
It is estimated that 6–10% of refrigerant gas will naturally leak from your system every 12 months. At Okee, before any new refrigerant is put into your car, a thorough leakage test is carried out, to ensure a re-gas is not a complete waste of time and money.
Our Air Con Advice
Our alignment machine uses cameras and targets attached to each wheel which create a 3D image of the wheels, and where they are pointing on every axis. Conventional methods of checking the tracking only measured the front, toe in and toe out, angles. This was fine 20 years ago, but not anymore. So, wherever you take your car, make sure you have a 3D 4-wheel alignment!
Air Con On... and windows shut!
When your windows are open it creates drag and effectively turns your car into a balloon, thus forcing the engine to work harder which will burn more fuel as it has to work harder to push itself down the road. Having your windows shut allows the passing air to flow all the way over the car, increasing the aerodynamics. By doing this the engine doesn’t need to work as hard, and uses much less fuel.
